Lead Process Development Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a global leader in specialty chemical manufacturing, is looking for an accomplished Lead Process Development Engineer to drive innovation and optimization. This critical role focuses on the design, scale-up, and implementation of new chemical processes. You will lead a team of engineers and chemists in developing novel manufacturing methodologies.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process development and optimization.
• Proven experience in designing and operating pilot plants.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Experience with PHA methodologies (e.g., HAZOP).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes from laboratory to commercial production.
• Design and conduct experiments to evaluate process parameters and quality.
• Develop detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs.
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations.
• Specify and select process equipment (reactors, columns, pumps).
• Oversee pilot plant operations and collect data for scale-up.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
• Collaborate with R&D and technology transfer teams.
• Train and mentor junior engineers.
