Lead Chemical Process Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a prominent leader in the chemical manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer. This position is based at our facility in Seef and requires consistent on-site presence for hands-on engagement and oversight. You will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering.
• Proven experience in process design, optimization, and scale-up.
• Strong knowledge of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Experience with P&ID development and HAZOP studies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in production plants.
• Scale up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial production.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling.
• Develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process documentation.
• Perform hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP) and ensure process safety.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams.
• Manage process improvement projects.
• Mentor and guide junior chemical engineers.
