Project Management Unit Lead - Lebanon

Job Description

Malteser International (MI) is looking for a Project Management Unit Lead for its AHEAD program in Lebanon. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the implementation of a multi-annual program funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. Key tasks include strategic guidance, operational oversight, donor compliance, and coordination with the Order of Malta Lebanon. The position involves managing a team of 8 staff in Beirut and ensuring safety, security, and risk management.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in International Relations, Development, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in senior donor relations, grants management, or external affairs roles within INGOs or UN agencies
• Proven track record in managing multi-million institutional donor relationships (BMZ, ECHO, EU, UN), and specifically GFFO
• Faith literacy is a prerequisite
• Excellent written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the AHEAD Project Management Unit (PMU) with 8 staff in Beirut
• Ensure full compliance with donor requirements including finance, logistics, programs and partnership agreements
• Maintain strong partnership coordination with OML
• Establish and oversee robust monitoring and evaluation systems
• Serve as the primary liaison to HQ line management
• Ensure effective safety and security management
• Oversee comprehensive HR management
