Senior Project Engineer (National)

Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading site-based engineering and construction activities for onshore oil and gas projects in Basra, Iraq. This includes overseeing planning, scheduling, and execution, acting as the primary technical interface with the client, and ensuring all activities comply with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Masters or Bachelor’s in Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in onshore oil and gas projects
• Proven track record of managing large, complex projects

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee on-site engineering activities including planning, scheduling, and execution
• Serve as the primary technical and coordination interface with the Client
• Provide technical review and guidance on engineering deliverables and construction drawings
• Act as the primary coordination focal point between construction, engineering, and procurement
• Identify potential technical and execution risks and propose mitigation measures
• Ensure site activities comply with Company standards and HSE regulations
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians
